"Ik Pas"
I did not sleep very well and according to my husband I was mumbling in my sleep and my dreaming about running a marathon as I couldn't lay still. When I woke up I was feeling hung-over! How's that possible? Tired and feeling like I want to call in sick at work, but today the cleaning lady is coming over and I don't want to do it myself. Rather go to work then.
At work I'm feeling better by the minute and realize I'm actually very proud of my accomplishment. Haven't had a drink for 1 whole week now! And this will be until at least Friday, so almost 2 weeks in total by that time.
During my lunch break I stumble on the website of Foundation Positive Lifestyle (only in Dutch unfortunately) "Ik pas". Which means "I skip". This foundation initiates the "Dry January" 30 days. And from 6 March there's a new initiative called the "40 days action". It starts at Ash Wednesday (after the carnival is finished) and stops 14 April at Palm Sunday.
They send you a daily newsletter and there's an app to download. Before I know it, I have subscribed myself to join the challenge!
Then I read a page on the blog "Mummy was a Secret Drinker" called "Advice for Newbies".

I inform my husband and my mum. My mum is joining me in the challenge too. NICE! After this weekend I feel great and motivated to do this! In preparation to my wedding in September 2019 it would be great I can go through the day without drinking too much and experience the day to the fullest.
