SoberMummy and keerpunt

"It is Monday and I feel a bit hung-over and Tuesday I'm tired and feeling a bit depressed. Wednesday my stomach and back hurt again. My stomach feels bloated and I don't know how to sit anymore at work. Tired, bit depressed I cancel a good bye drink and a dinner for that evening and just want to go home. I download a book on my phone "The Sober Diaries" from Clare Pooley and start reading.
WOW!
I know I'm not drinking every day, but her wine witch is something I do recognize very well... Last weekend I drank Friday, Saturday and Sunday a bottle each day.
A few weeks ago I decided not to drink anything anymore during the week as mostly on Wednesdays we went out for dinner with friends and this resulted in having a few glasses of wine (3 or 4).

The book inspires me not to drink the upcoming weekend. Only thinking about that makes me want to go and have a glass of wine. (my wine witch speaks!) Quickly I open the book "Chardonnee" ("The Sober Diaries" in English) and start reading. This helps a lot and is a very big inspiration.
I go to her blog called "Mummy was a Secret Drinker" and read "Reasons to Quit Drinking". The first reason
"You'll lose weight" is GREAT of course and my stomach hurts and I feel fat lately.
So as this is already reason enough, I realized after reading some chapters in the book that during weekends I don't want to go out as I can't have a drink then. And I don't drink and drive. This was an eye opener!
I complain about that my friends are too far away and I want friends closer to home. Do I want "friends" closer to home or drinking buddies?
The only drinking buddies now at home are my husband and the kids every other weekend and they don't care whether I'm drinking. But my hubby is always gone on Saturday afternoons, so this leaves only me and myself and I.. That's three!
I decide not to drink this weekend and see what happens. Will it be difficult? Or will everything be much better? Or.. Or.. OR?? I don't know.."
